The hotel was evaluated to assess its environmental footprint as part of the environmental display scheme for the hotel industry, set up by ADEME and the French Ministry of Ecological Transition. The hotel received a C grade based on four main criteria: CO2 emissions per guest, water consumption per guest, energy consumption per guest and the proportion of organic or ecolabeled purchases.
Hotel Charlemagne has launched an initiative to reduce food waste by offering anti-waste fruit baskets to its guests. Cette démarche valorise les fruits consommables souvent jetés pour des raisons esthétiques ou logistiques, et a été bien accueillie par la clientèle.
Thanks to this initiative, 54 kg of fruit were saved and enjoyed by customers, helping to reduce food waste and raising awareness of the importance of this environmental issue.
